Rollable Front Awnings in Dublin

An extra layer of shade when the sun sits low.

A rollable front valance adds a vertical fabric screen at the leading edge of the awning. Lower it independently when you need extra low-angle shade or privacy, then raise it when you want a more open view.

At a glance

A considered starting point for your project

  • 01

    Low-sun shading

The additional vertical section provides shade beyond the overhead canopy.

  • 02

    A little more privacy

Adjust the front screen to suit how you are using the patio or terrace.

  • 03

    Independent adjustment

The front valance operates separately from the main awning.

  • 04

    Project-specific choices

Discuss the main fabric, front material, frame and controls together.

Overhead canopy + front valance

Two directions of shade, one considered installation

The existing range describes a semi-cassette-style appearance when the arms and fabric are retracted. The independent front drop adds flexibility without turning the patio into a permanently enclosed space.

Start with the direction of the sun and the view you want to keep. The front fabric, drop and controls can then be discussed for your installation.

Options for the selected system

Plan lighting and controls together

The Dunshaughlin and Citywest examples shown in the project examples include lighting in the arms and front valance, together with motorisation and a wind sensor. These are project configurations: the compatible package is agreed for your own system.

Lighting to discuss

Ask about compatible integrated lighting and dimming when specifying the awning.

Control to suit you

Discuss the main canopy and front valance separately, including any app or smart-home requirements.

Wind-aware operation

A front drop is not a windbreak for strong conditions. Follow the operating limits of the installed system.

Questions, answered

Rollable Front Awnings - useful questions

Practical information to help you prepare for a project conversation.

Ask our team
What is an awning front drop?

It is a fabric section that extends vertically from the front of an awning. It is also called a rollable front valance and is used for additional shade and privacy.

Can I operate the front valance independently?

Yes. The front section operates independently from the main canopy.

Can the front drop be motorised?

The original range describes manual or automatic front operation depending on the setup. Confirm your preferred arrangement with the team.

Can lighting be included?

Selected projects shown in the project examples have lights in the arms and front valance. The compatible lighting configuration should be confirmed in the quotation.

Can I leave the front down in strong wind?

No. The front should be retracted in stronger wind because it is not designed for significant wind loads. Follow the instructions for the installed system.

Do you have examples around Dublin?

Yes. The existing project examples include Citywest and Rialto in Co. Dublin, plus Dunshaughlin in Co. Meath. The gallery also shows completed rollable-front installations, but individual photograph locations are not labelled on this page.

How do I request a quote?

Send the location, approximate size and photographs, together with a description of where you need additional shade or privacy.
